Pet parent to Ipo (American and Pit Bull Terrier mix, Willy and Bubbles).

Dr. Cristina Miliaresis traces her roots to Italy and Greece. She grew up in Naples, Italy and spent many of her summers on the Ionian island of Kefalonia , Greece.

At the age of 18, Dr. Miliaresis moved to New York where she attended undergraduate university at the Honor’s College SUNY Stony Brook. She earned her BS in biology. While attending undergraduate university, Dr. Miliaresis competed on her school’s equestrian team and worked as a veterinary technician.

After finishing her undergraduate degree, she moved to Brooklyn where she pursued a Master’s degree in molecular biology teaching classes and working full time as a veterinary technician at The North Shore Animal League.

Finally, Dr. Miliaresis gave in to her life-­‐long dream to become a veterinarian and left New York for Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on St. Kitts in the Caribbean. Dr. Miliaresis completed her clinical training at the University of Illinois and graduated in 2003. After a short year in California, the island life and ocean drew her to Hawaii where she has been practicing veterinary medicine since.

On her spare time, she can be found surfing and enjoying time at the beach.

Dr. Ednee Yoshioka

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Ednee Yoshioka was born and raised on Oahu. She attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a double minor in Microbiology and Business Administration. During her undergraduate studies she assisted with research to help create Hawaii's first health and welfare certification program for beef cattle. She completed a course in artificial insemination of beef cattle and was a research assistant for the Hawaiian Monk Seal Research Program.

After completing her undergraduate studies, she earned her DVM at Colorado State University and graduated in 2016. While in veterinary school, she completed training in high volume/high quality spays and neuters at Humane Alliance in Asheville, North Carolina and cared for sick marine wildlife at The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, California. Dr. Yoshioka is excited to be home and joining the Surf Paws family!

On her spare time, she can be found hiking, canoe paddling, scuba diving and enjoying the local cuisine.

Dr. Yoshioka belongs to the following professional organizations: American Veterinary Medical Association, Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association, IAAAM (International Association for Aquatic Animal Medicine)
